Ian A. Little was still a teenager when he started at Osgoode Hall Law School after a couple of years at McMaster University. He had his first reported case before he even graduated in 1984. Ian was called to the Ontario bar in 1986, and won his first civil jury trial that same year. He practised as an associate and then partner with a well-known insurance defence firm in downtown Toronto until 1994, when he switched sides and began representing accident victims. He and Dianna Morello have worked together since 1995, creating and building the thriving litigation practice that became LMVS.
Ian has appeared at all levels of the Ontario court system including the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal. He has also participated in proceedings at the Supreme Court of Canada. Ian has represented clients at various Ontario and federal tribunals including the former Canada Pension Plan Disability Review Tribunal, the Social Services Tribunal, the former Pension Appeals Board, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, the former Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.
Over the course of his career, Ian has had involvement with the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Advocates’ Society, the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto, the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association, McKenzie Health Foundation and the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce.
Dianna Morello attended Glendon College (York University) where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in French. In 1994, she graduated with a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario bar in 1996.
Dianna has practiced in the area of personal injury litigation for her entire career. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Ontario and the Ontario Court of Justice. Dianna has also attended at a number of tribunals including the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, the Social Security Tribunal of Canada and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.
Dianna is a board member of the Toronto chapter of the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association (CIBPA). Through the CIBPA she has co-chaired several events and actively participated in various committees. She is also a member of the Advocates’ Society and the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce. Dianna and LMVS support the arts through sponsorship of the Steppin’ Out Theatrical Productions. She is also actively involved in the community through LMVS’ fundraising efforts for the Strides for Stroke and other local causes.
Dianna is conversant in Italian and Spanish.
J. John Vettese received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from York University in Economics and Political Science in 1995. He obtained his law degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1998 and was called to the Ontario bar in February 2000. He has practised commercial and tax litigation during his career and has had an active practice in plaintiff personal injury and insurance litigation since his call to the bar. He is conversant in Italian.
John has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and the Tax Court of Canada. He has also appeared at various government tribunals such as the Landlord Tenant Board, the Canada Pension Plan Disability Review Tribunal, the Employment Insurance Commission, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.
John believes in approaching insurance and injury disputes with confidence and tenacity while maintaining respect and professional integrity.
John is a member of the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association. He has been actively involved for many years in the Strides For Stroke 5k Run/Walk in support of Mackenzie Health Foundation and is currently the Committee Co-Chair. John’s fundraising efforts have also included running the Rome Marathon in 2013 in support of Lung Cancer Canada and participating in several full and half Marathons and 5K runs to support Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Piera A. Segreto was born, raised and educated in Toronto. After secondary school she went on to receive an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from York University with a double major in Law & Society and Psychology. In 2004 she graduated with a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to bar in 2005.
Piera enjoys all aspects of litigation. In addition to her insurance and personal injury work, Piera continues an active practice of commercial and general litigation. She has appeared and successfully tried jury and non- jury cases and argued complex motions at the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. She has also appeared before various government tribunals including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, the Employment Insurance Commission, the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario/Licence Appeal Tribunal. Piera prides herself on being a formidable advocate for her clients and uses common sense and logic, along with her in depth knowledge of the law, to obtain the best outcome for her clients.
Piera is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Vaughan Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association. She is an active member in the community and enjoys participating in and supporting local events. Piera is fluent in Italian, and conversant in Spanish.
Dale Rosenberg received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from York University with a major in Political Science and a minor in Film. He subsequently obtained his law degree from the University of Windsor and was called to the Ontario bar in 2011. Dale completed his articles at a mid-size downtown Toronto law firm and joined LMVS as an associate thereafter. He practices civil litigation, with a specific focus on injury and disability claims.
Dale has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.
Sarah Sheaves received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto in 2001. She subsequently obtained diplomas as a Court and Tribunal Agent and in Paralegal Education from Humber College. She commenced full-time employment with the now senior LMVS lawyers in 2003 and has appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Ontario Court of Justice and the Small Claims Court of Ontario. She holds a Licensed Paralegal designation from the Law Society of Ontario and in 2017 she completed her LL.B. degree with the University of London (England). She continues with LMVS part-time and is also a professor of Paralegal Studies at Mohawk College. In addition, Sarah is a certified yoga instructor and sits on the board of Healing Heroes, a charitable organization that brings yoga and meditation practices to Ontario’s first responder communities at no cost.
Amanda Lima graduated from Sheridan College in 2010 with a Paralegal diploma and obtained her Licensed Paralegal designation from the Law Society of Ontario shortly thereafter. She has been a part of the LMVS team since 2010. Amanda deals with clients directly, prepares documentation for courts and tribunals and assists the lawyers with personal injury and motor vehicle accident cases. She has conducted mediations and attended pre-hearings before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and participates in Licence Appeal Tribunal matters.
Gianluca Schepis completed a B.A. in Anthropology at York University in 2015 and the Paralegal Graduate Certificate Program at Centennial College in 2016. He achieved his Licensed Paralegal designation from the Law Society of Ontario in 2017. Gianluca worked with a criminal law firm and appeared regularly before the Ontario Court of Justice before joining LMVS, where he is assisting the team with personal injury files including court and tribunal filings, Small Claims Court appearances and client interactions.
Magdalena Del Borrello completed law school at Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City and obtained her “Titulo de Abogado” in 1989. Since emigrating to Canada, Magda has worked as a law clerk starting in 1995 with the now senior LMVS lawyers in the field of plaintiff personal injury claims. She is fluent in Spanish.
Sulma Granados obtained a diploma as a bilingual executive secretary from Harvard College in El Salvador. She was employed in the legal department of a multi-national corporation prior to emigrating to Canada. She has been a dedicated and indispensable legal assistant since started working with the now senior LMVS lawyers in 1997. Sulma is fluent in Spanish.
Regina Sawczak graduated from the Toronto School of Business in 2001 with a diploma in accounting and computer applications. Her experience as a plaintiff personal injury law clerk dates back to 2001 when she commenced work with the now senior LMVS lawyers. She continues to assist with the management of motor vehicle accident and personal injury claims. Regina is fluent in Polish.
Marisa Amato obtained a Certificate as a Legal Assistant from Seneca College in 2002 and later graduated from Humber College in 2004 with a Law Clerk Diploma. She has been employed as a law clerk assisting the lawyers of LMVS since 2005. Marisa specializes in plaintiff personal injury/motor vehicle accident and disability insurance claims and is committed to managing files and preparing various legal documents.
Mizan Amanuel started her career as a legal assistant with the senior LMVS lawyers in 1998 after many years managing a medical office. She is one of our front-line contacts with clients and also assists the law clerks and lawyers. She is fluent in Tigrigna, Italian and Spanish. Mizan conveys a positive spirit and is beloved by co-workers and clients alike.
Sabrina Silla joined us a few years ago, working part-time while she pursued her university studies and is now working full-time as a junior law clerk and legal assistant.
Lia Kitchen obtained her diploma in Business Administration from Humber College in 2006. She gained experience in the sales and financial advisory fields before joining the LMVS team in 2015. She is part of our administrative team and also assists the lawyers and senior law clerks. She is fluent in Italian.
Jade Manning received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Criminology from York University in 2014. Since joining LMVS she has been assisting senior law clerks, drafting letters to other lawyers and handling important documents as she develops her expertise in managing personal injury claims.
Pearl Panthaky obtained a diploma in Child and Youth Work from Centennial College and worked with troubled children for 9 years before commencing her career as a legal assistant at LMVS, assisting the lawyers and legal staff since 2009. She is the face of the front office; one of the first people clients and others deal with when calling or coming into the office. She also manages various administrative duties. Pearl is very creative and has the pleasure of coordinating many of our office and community functions.
Pina Carpino graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. Before joining the LMVS team in 2011, she worked in the insurance industry, earning a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada. Pina is often the first LMVS team member that people deal with in person or on the telephone. Her roles include reception and various clerical duties.
Iryna Zhelavska is the LMVS full-charge bookkeeper maintaining all accounting functions since 2009. Iryna speaks fluent Russian.
